Warm and Fuzzy
These two words don’t usually describe an experience in an art gallery. But that’s how Saturday’s reception left me feeling. And according to the folks I spoke with, I wasn’t the only one.
The artists, painter Carol Aust and sculptor, Laura Van Duren had everything to do with this. Their nature is warm and supportive, their work expresses their dream world and psyche.
I have the added pleasure of having Carol and Laura back here on the 21st to give you their personal take on processes and inspiration behind the work. After the talk, stay for the open floor, spoken word. Feel free to share your own stories around the theme of Belonging, home, longing, identity and community.
I hope to see you in the gallery for the show. It’s up through July 19th, 2014.
