Marcella Austenfeld, Jewelry Maker and Designer shares her unique jewelry designs made with found and rare objects. Her extraordinary adornments are featured in the gallery and for sale.
“I like to work with found objects, natural elements and items that are not conventional in accessories.
Jewelry decorates. In addition to adornment a wearer may choose for personal meaning, to wear as an amulet, a talisman, token, a memory – or simply for how it looks and makes you feel.
I am a hunter, a gatherer – of objects, forgotten trinkets, sticks and stones.
Often components are found at antique markets, vintage stores; and are reused, repurposed, recreated. Leather from tossed garments, scraps in metals, fabric, hardware store nuts and bolts are all sources of inspiration for me.” – Marcella Austenfeld
