REPRESENT. A panel of 3 art industry experts discussing the practical aspects of art representation in the 21st century. Facilitated by gallery owner and artist, Jennifer Perlmutter, REPRESENT aims to demystify the artist/gallery relationship, provide concrete advice on preparing you and your work for the best odds of representation and most of all, what can you do to best represent your self in this highly competitive environment.
Why? Because artists often seem to be stumbling around in the dark when it comes to business relationships and common business practice involving the representation and distribution of their work. We can’t solve all the problems in one afternoon but there will be plenty uncovered and this panel will give you a sense of what to expect from the art world. There is nothing to “up-sell” here, no big ticket price to get in. This is for you, the artist so that you may prosper doing what you love, increasing the odds of happiness for you and those around you. Sounds good right? Share and invite friends, this will be lively and fun. Bring your questions and problems, anecdotes of failure and success and share them with us.
