Photographer Igor Capibaribe photographs women in the nude. Completely and utterly naked. When he first showed me his work, I was stunned. The idea that the “woman next door” hires a fine art photographer and spends an afternoon in the setting of her choice, on the beach, in the woods, or wherever she wants, was surprising. Were these fine art photos for her partner? Herself? The work is captivating. These are no ordinary photos. They are very real. And they tell stories. Being naked, un-covered, and visible to the lens, seems to put a 3rd person in the room. The You that is never seen but has something to say.
When Igor circled back months after he made his initial introduction to me at the gallery, he had another idea to present: Augmented Reality. Augmented Reality is simply a technology that superimposes a computer-generated image on a user’s view of the real world, thus providing a composite view. When you do this with art, you bring the viewer closer to the subject and closer to the artist. Point of view can be expanded upon and the experience of the viewer is enhanced with moving images that seem to interact with your surroundings.
We are pleased to introduce this work to you and give you the experience of something completely new. The AR art exhibit will be up and open to the public for one week only. Before you enter the gallery, download the free ARLOOPA app to view the augmented reality of the exhibit. This is adult content. We ask that you use your discretion with deciding whether or not to bring family under 15.
After about 15 years of learning, polishing, elevating my craft and steering towards a vision, I have found it. Aside from the fascination with the subject, I love the challenges, and the stories that come along with each session. I love to hear clients who still can’t believe they did it and still can’t believe that it’s them in the photos. I’ve seen tears, I’ve seen salvaged relationships, and I’ve seen a renewed appreciation for oneself.
I have had people who describe themselves as “shy” dancing naked on the pavement of Yosemite, and running along rooftops. I laughed with clients that didn’t want the session to end. I have had repeat clients who want a new set of photos every 5 years to remind them of where they were in life. I have had clients who decided that 30 was the time to do it, those with 3 kids who wanted to do something just for themselves, and I have had 40-somethings who told me they never felt so free than when in their Nudefy Me shoot. I photographed a grandmother of 2 that decided that was time for that special gift for her husband. Some people wait years building up “courage” for it only to find the experience completely natural and comfortable, free of trepidation.
And every single one of them, after seeing their photos, love what they see. I have had clients say they haven’t felt so feminine in years. I have had clients that had never been completely naked in the sun. I had those who cursed the cold wind or water but powered through regardless. I even once photographed a client inside the San Francisco Bay. Through the evolution of time and experience came different techniques and new ways to deliver the work. Going beyond the main stream album, to gorgeous and framed pictures evolving to different finishes, resin, encaustic, hand-painted applications to today, turning the page with our new app, coming soon, that uses augmented reality for a whole new experience.
We use drones to photograph from the air; and waterproof equipment to capture underwater photography. In case you can’t tell from my story, I am a curious being. I research, I read, and I modify; bookstores are my second home. I invest in my work to make it truly timeless and never cookie cutter. I have developed ways to allow my work to live on your walls. The work is elegant, beautiful and tasteful, no matter the audience. How, do you ask? Poetry, woodshop, laser and engraving classes, glass blowing lessons, CNC wood classes. I am an artist and photography is my main tool, but I wander to other mediums, seeing new tools, translating them to my work, deconstructing to reassemble them in order to bring new ideas to you, the client. I cater to the shy ones who are curious inside. I cater to the “OMG I am so scared ones” who stuck it out and lived that day to its fullest. I cater to the ones that appreciate art, that understand the value of uniqueness, that wander around other peoples’ walls looking for art that moves them, art that is utterly personal. Most of all, I cater to the ones that stumbled upon Nudefy Me, who woke up one day and imagined how would it feel to be part of something that makes you excited, a little scared, brave and nervous…but ultimately resolved and confident. I cater to every shape and size.
Nudefy Me is an experience; it’s a testament to you, not a contest. It’s my job to capture who you are. It’s my job to wow you, to make you wonder how we work with little to no use of image manipulation other than color adjustments and tone changes. I will not make you look different, I will translate the very best of you. I love patterns and textures. I take close ups. I love goose bumps and water drops. I ask for crazy things, see side projects, Trapped in Suspension and Photo Affair.
On a personal note, I am very happily married, father of 2. My life’s passion is to be your photographer and deliver professional and impeccable results that thrill you. You are an individual entitled to respect and a commitment.
My clients are wives, husbands, friends, sisters, moms and dads and they deserve great memories and a final product that leaves them fulfilled. So, embrace the experience and have fun.
I want to get the best out of our time and I want it to live on your walls.
