April 27, 7pm-9pm JPG@TheBank (Corner of Mt Diablo and Moraga in downtown Lafayette)

What do poetry and winemaking have in common? Pretty much everything, as it turns out! Including that in both cases, you might not associate them with Lamorinda, but we’re here.
Please join us for a fun, funny, intersectional and delicious evening of jazz, wine and words. We will taste five diverse and distinct wines from Lamorinda winemakers and listen to a “tasting flight” of readings from a diverse and distinctive bunch of Bay Area literati. Each “pairing” has been designed to exemplify a principle common to both crafts: Things like terroir and tension, structure and typicity, balance and brilliance. A refreshing vein of, um, acidity? will run through both. You will laugh. You will make that “hmmm” noise people make when they think or feel something unexpected. You will probably discover at least one gem of a craftsman you did not realize was hiding in plain sight. Connections will be made. Hurrah and cheers.
Participating wineries: Meadow View, Thal Vineyards, Raisin d”Etre, Los Arabis, Deer Hill Vineyards.
Participating writers: AJ Petersen, Austin Smith, David Rosenthal, Heather Altfeld, Troy Jollimore, Tanu Wakefield.
